“Throughout my life I have travelled a lot, for work and leisure, and with 43 Station Hotel I wanted to create a facility that, according to me, is an important segment that the current day clientele looks for”, says Marcello Acerbi, Chairman of 43 Station Hotel. “A very central address, within the Central Station, convenient for its position but also new, fresh, welcoming and with accessible prices –  because nowadays, even more, travellers are attentive to costs and are ready to pay for select services.” Acerbi also adds: “The 43 Station Hotel is an ambitious project and brings to Milan a type of facility that was not yet present from its category: a hotel where the guest has to feel central, filled with attentions, a little bit like at home – but in a modern context and where the Milanese metropolis is always present in the background. To give life to a successful project we studied every aspect with scientific attention since the beginning – from the position to its design, from the rates to the staff”.

Rome, La Nuvola just after five months from the beginning of its activities has already generated business for 12 million Euros

There is truly great satisfaction at the Roma Convention Group, a company that is controlled 100% by EUR SpA, which co-ordinates the management of the conference system and conventions of EUR, that is the Roma Convention Center La Nuvola and the Palazzo dei Congressi.

The economic balance closed in fact on the 31st December 2016 with an increase in turnover of about 53% compared to the previous year, thanks to the operative activity of the Roma Convention Center La Nuvola, operative on the market since the 29th October 2016, as reported by Monitorimmobiliare. And the possiblities are absolutely positive, as emphasised by Enrico Pazzali CEO of the Roma Convention Group: “The results obtained during 2016 highlight a positive management of the compay, that allowed to cover all the start-up costs to launch the Roma Convention Center La Nuvola, as well as to proceed to a saving of credit devaluation funds for previous positions considered at risk to be recovered. During these first 4 months and 20 days since its start of the commercial activity, which does not yet benefit from the marketing and business marketing activities necessary, one must say, to compete on the global market of great events, the interest in La NUvola has already generated for the coming years about fifty contract for a value, just for the rental of the conference facility La Nuvola, of over 12 million Euros. Considering – as often expressed by the experts – 3/5 years are necessary to reach the maximum market potential, the events already hosted, together with those advertised for future years and negotiations in progress, prove in fact a strong interest from convention buyers and PCOs for a highly attractive facility in terms of functionality, versatility and beauty.”

p.p1 {margin: 0.0px 0.0px 12.0px 0.0px; line-height: 14.0px; font: 12.0px Tahoma; color: #000000; -webkit-text-stroke: #000000}
span.s1 {font-kerning: none}

Roberto Diacetti, Chairman of the Roma Convention Group, concluded: “The excellent results obtained confirm the capacity of Roma Convention Group to operate on highly dynamic markets, are in line with the objectives of consolidating and strengthening the competitiveness of the conference system of EUR and its host territory, to arrive at becoming a leader for the promotion of destination Rome, with a pulling effect on the local economy and therefore expanding to a more general interest.”

Rome rises in the worldwide classification of top destination of 2017. It is in fourth place of the hit parade of TripAdvisor

Good news for Italyand for Rome particularly, that conquers one of the most prestigious positions in the classification that has just been compiled by TripAdvisor. The portal, in fact, has recently announced the winners of the Travelers’ Choice Destinations Awards 2017, that acknowledge the favourite places by travellers all over the world.

The winners of the awards have been established using the formula based on the quantity and quality of reviews and points of the hotels, attractions and restaurants obtained by the destinations of all the world in the last 12 months, as well as on the interest of travellers towards booking these destinations on TripAdvisor. The Eternal City rises in the pleasure index by international travellers gaining positions both in the worldwide Top 10 where it is in fourth place (+3 compared to 2016) as well as in the European classification where it obtains the bronze medal (+2 compared to 2016). On a national level Rome keeps its first place and the podium remains unvaried, with Florence in second place and Venice in third. Following, to complete the Italian top five, are Sorrento and Milan.

Even though it missed the national podium by a little, with Sorrento in fourth place, Campania is the main region of this edition of the Traveler’s Choice Destinations Awards. Apart from boasting the largest number of destinations that received awards in the Italian Top 10 (4 on 10), it counts 3 new entries compared to last year: Positano (6th), Naples (9th) and the Island of Ischia (10th). The only other region with more than one award is Tuscant, that apart from Florence (2nd) it receives an award also for Castelnuovo Berardenga in the Province of Siena (8th). An award each for Lombardy with Milan (5th) and Trentino Alto Adige with Selva di Val Gardena (7th).

To be correct Bali is the absolute winner of the title of most beloved destination in the world. If the Asian continent can boast this record, it is however Europe to win for quantity. More than half of the most beloved destinations in the world (6 on 10) are found in fact in the Old Continent: London (2nd), Paris (3rd), Rome (4th), Crete (6th), Barcellona (7th) and Prague (9th).

Grand Hotel Palazzo della Fonte, the conference center becomes a set for films and fictions

The Grand Hotel Palazzo della Fonte di Fiuggi re-confirms as favourite location even for films and fictions. Recently some scenes of “1993” have been shot there, the sequel of Stefano Accorsi’s success “1992” regarding Italian issues on Tangentopoli. The large conference center of the hotel served as backdrop for the convention of a main political party. In a totally truesome way, considering that companies from all sectors, from pharmaceutical to automobile, use its spaces, thanks to its 16 halls of varying dimensions, the largest of over 400 places, all illuminated by natural light, with wi-fi connection and direct access to the park of the hotel.

However, the facility has also been the set for the film “The Confessions” by Roberto Andò with Toni Servillo: Palazzo della Fonte donned the atmospheres of an exclusive luxury resort. Only one hour away from Rome, the hotel is a majestic construction surrounded by a park, the ideal location to relax and take care of one’s wellness taking advantage of the famous therapeutic waters.

Sophisticated and unique in its perfect liberty style, the Palazzo della Fonte was built to be the most elegant and modern hotel in Europe at the beginning of the 1900s, during the same period of the birth of the Thermal Establishment and given as a project to the same architect. Great frescoes by a famous painter of the times, Silvio Galimberti, on the top most part of the facade and the precious ceilings of the halls illuminated by Murano chandeliers. Walking through the vast interior spaces of great harmony and elegance, resting on armchairs in the fresh verandas, regenerating with a swim in the olympic open air swimming pool, one forgets pollution and the confusion of the city. The semicircular internal swimming pool outlined by large windows and the huge SPA of 1,500 metres squared contribute with massages and treatments to improve stress.

The pleasant hillside climate and the welcoming 153 rooms furnished in British country style guarantee peaceful sleep. The Ristorante Savoia is the ideal space for an expert food and wine experience, for business lunches or dinners. During the Spring or Summer the Restaurant and Bar Il Portico by the external swimming pool are a privileged place to discover the delicacies of the territory in the open air, beneath the secular trees of the park.

Always travelling for work? Here comes Handy, the butler smartphone available for free in hotel rooms

Handy arrives in Italy, the smartphone for hotels that eliminates roaming problems and not only. Developed by the start up Tink Labs Limited of Hong Kong, it is changing connectivity in the travel compartment: it is available as free service for partner hotel guests and allows travellers, business or leisure, to have access to unlimited local and international calls, internet connection, local emergency numbers, rapid selection to hotel services and other information such as tourist guides. The Handy devices were created in 2012 and by 2017 the company has the aim of reaching 1 million rooms starting with the about 100 thousand rooms in which Handy is already present around the world.

And Italy, destination par excellence, is a key market. At the moment the startup has made new partnerships with just a little less than 100 hotels in the main cities and top destinations and counts on reaching 50 thousand rooms. “We are present in Milan, Rome, Genoa, Venice and Florence, covering 10 thousand rooms in about a hundred hotels”, said Terence Kwok, 25-year-old founder and CEO who collected 125 million by faithful investors last year, to the Sole24Ore. “Initially our idea was that of renting some smartphones inside of airports”, explains Kwok, “however we realised quite quickly that it would not be deductible: when people land they want to get to the hotel as soon as possible”. And thus the idea to find the device directly in the room, that users can use to book restaurants, theatre tickets and visits to museums and places of interest.

Always on Handy travellers will find maps of the city and also the apps of the main social networks. Apart for the guests, the advantages can be measured also by hotel that, against an investment, one can find “an average evaluation of the hotels that offer Handy on TripAdvisor increasing by 0.31 points”, between the before and after service, concludes Kwok.
