Convention Bureau Italia closes with an excellent 2016: requests increased by 70%

2016 closes with a very positive balance for the Convention Bureau Italia, which presented the results obtained and the activities planned for 2017 during the latest annual Members Council. Important performances also in terms of RFP. 

In mid-November the CBI registered a +70% of requests received compared to the total of 2015, mostly coming from Fairs and events to which the CBI took part, but also coming from contacts coming from the many activities of communication that ar e carried out, among which the excellent performances of the website. In the analysis of the destinations, Rome and Milan confirm to be the most requested cities, followed by Florence, Venice and Bologna. Among the requests that have been made concrete by the CBI, it is important to note a b2b Fair of over 2,500 people in Milan related to wide distribution and an event of 1,300 participants in 4 hotels in Rome, just to mention a few. The confirmations are not only about big destinations, during 2016 even MICE events for example were confirmed in Valle D’Aosta, Trentino Alto Adige, Bergamo. 

The numbers themselves of the CBI are growing: today the members are 92 divided in Members and Preferred Partners. Thus the CBI, just two years after its creation, triples concretely the number of its founder members. Members who since 2016 include also three hotel chains: IHC, NH Hotel Group and UNA Hotels & Resorts, the CBI can guarantee a capillary coverage in all the main Italian destinations. Many news even in terms of activities. With 12 promotional commercial actions, 2 formation events and 1 Retreat, the CBI closes the year having profiled 650 buyers. 2017 will be the year of partnerships. Thanks to the agreements established by CBI with great international players, all members and Italian operators will be able to participate to b2b events up till now always desired but considered to be too expensive. This is the case of the M&I Forum, where members and their respective CBI partners  will participate taking advantage of very advantageous rates (up to 30% savings on the basic rate). Even closer is the collaboration with ENIT for the promotion of the destination on international markets, which concretises not only through a strict collaboration on three main fairs of the sector, but also in the joint presentation of the 4 MICE workshops planned in London, Brussels, New York City and Washington DC during the month of March 2017. Workshops organised by the Convention Bureau Italia also thanks to the factual support of the central offices and the foreign offices of ENIT. Among other activities, the focus on the European market continues with the participation to Pure Meetings & Events in Paris and The Meetings Show in London, and that in the Indian market, with the presence of the CBI at the next Wow Awards & Convention Asia. 

Moreover, thanks to the collaboration among CBI and AirDolomiti, during he course of 2017 will be organised three fam trips in the cities of Bologna, Turin and Padua, dedicated to clients based in South Germany. “I am extremely satisfied about how the year has conclude, a definitely positive 2016.
