Discovering Italy through an app: Movibell, the guide to over 6,500 treasures of Italy

It is well known that Italy is an open air museum, now it is also available for those who do not know Italy or our language. Even those travelling for business, who perhaps have an hour’s time between a meeting and another, can discover many artistic and cultural beauties of our Country with Movibell, the mobile app that allows to discover interesting objects and places while on the move, using the smartphone or tablet like a real personal Radar.

Thought for those who visit a city for the first time or who would like to get to know better one’s territory, Movibell allows to find and explore about 6,500 monuments, palazzos, archaeological parks, museums, exhibition venues, theatres and libraries found all over Italy. From the Valle dei Templi in Agrigento to the Castello di Fénis in Valle d’Aosta, going through the thousands of places of historic and artistic interest that are hidden even in the smallest of districts, Movibell inaugurates a new way of exploring the territory, giving monuments the possibility of being discovered by visitors, without them necessarily looking for them. By installing  the mobile app Movibell, the user simply has to walk around town. When he is close to a palazzo, museum or theatre, the location itself will send a signal of its position with a notification and, the user confirms whether he wants to follow the relative Geolocalising channel, to be sent updates and news, share events and appointments.

Alberto Muritano, Founder and CEO of Movibell, explains “Movibell is an extremely versatile platform, suitable for local authorities and tourist operators who want to promote cities and territories in an innovative way. It is perfect also for shops, restaurants, hotels and any kind of commercial activity, as it offers the opportunity of involving people who move close to a retail stores, inviting them to look at a new product or take advantage of a discount.” The application Movibell is already available for iOS and Android devices, in Italian and English, and can be downloaded for free from the Apple Store and Google Play.
