Hotels in Turin, 2016 closes with a positive sign: great events make incoming fly
Great events are good for incoming of Turin. The proof are the numbers registered in the occasion of the football games of Juventus and New Year’s Even celebrations. Even thanks to the work of the black and white club in the city more hotel rooms have been sold in 2016. The last meeting for the Championship with the Roma club last 17th December has registered a growth of the occupational tax of the rooms by 132.2% compared to the previous Saturday.
The info on New Year’s is also positive: during the period between the 31st December 2016 and 7th January 2017 the occupational rate of the rooms exceeded 60%, totalling a +16% respect to 2015. Turin increases by 0.6% in 2016 its web reputation, going from 80 to 80.6. Among the strong points is the politeness of the staff, the tourist attractions offer, the service and its location. This is what the Osservatorio Alberghiero has emphasised, a strategic analysis tool for the reception sector, made available by the Chamber of Commerce of Turin and Turismo Torino e Provincia, in collaboration with the categories association representing the sector.
In total 2016 showed a positive trend even though not very marked (+0.4%). Just a little under 900 thousand rented rooms in the city (868.267 to be exact, 3.593 more) to an average rate of 86.18 Euros, slightly growing (+0.2%) compared to 2015. Increasing are also all the performance indicators: the occupational tax of the rooms, which reaches 64.6% (+1.8% more compared to 2015) and the profits per room available, that go from 54.61 Euros to 55.71 Euros, with an increase of 2% compared to the previous year. As regards the provenance of incoming fluxes, 77% arrives from Italy and 23% from abroad above all France, Spain, Great Britain, Belgium and United States.
