Incoming, it will be an excellent winter: foreign arrivals increasing by 1%

More good news from incoming. During the period of November 2016 – April 2017, in fact, an increase of 1% for foreign arrivals and an even better +1.4% for presences are expected. All previsions concerning tourist flows 2017 are positive according to CISET – Centro Internazionale di Studi sull’Economia Turistica (International Center for Studies on Tourist Economy).

The data is the result of a combined analysis carried out last October, on a representative sample of Italian tourist companies. The survey shows also an estimated growth that is more contained than the total turnover (+0.7%) and a substantial stability as far as the inclination of Italians to go on holiday abroad. “Knowing the trends of the market ahead of time is fundamental for those in the tourism sector to be able to plan efficiently one’s activity”, declared Valeria Minghetti, manager of the survey. After a very positive 2016 summer, the winter season seems to consolidate the positive trend that started already back in 2015. As far as only incoming is concerned, safety issues still tend to guide the choices of foreign travellers and Italy will benefit also thanks to the improvement of a national tourist offer.

Even for the 2016-2017 season Germany confirms to be the first client for Italy, followed by France and Japan, whereas the predictions foretell that arrivals from the USA and United Kingdom will remain stable. With regards other incoming European markets, CISET highlights Scandinavia, Denmark, Benelux, Spain, Poland, Romania, Hungary and Russia, predicted to grow again after the embargo. Among the non-European markets, the most positive predictions regard South America (above all Brasil and Argentina), China, Korea, United Arab Emirates and South Africa.
