Let’s make the low season in Naples disappear: CBN counts on the most original locations, such as the Catacombs and the Archivio Storico Bancario

Declared objective: bring Naples back among the most desirable destinations for conventions. With this mission, the Chairman of the Convention Bureau Napoli (CBN), Armando Brunini, reaches his conclusions after a year’s work. “Let’s make the low season in Naples disappear”, is the motto for the coming months. 

“Organising great events and conferences is fundamental to produce income and richness for the entire year. It means to work to consolidate the presences in the city during the historically positive months for tourism and increase them during the weaker months such as November, January or February”, says Brunini. This is one of the priorities of the CBN which has been working for a whole year, putting together all the main business forces of the city, to confirm Naples as a trustworthy and efficient conference location. A job that has already brought great results such as the confirmation of the WTC (World Tunnelling Congress) for 2019. An important contribution has been given also for the Stati Generali del Turismo of Pietrarsa or for the event organised on the occasion of the 25 years of MPI Italia Chapter.

“During this year we secured numerous collaborations to be a competitive candidate, Naples needs efficient conference centres. This is why we chose to work together with institutions such as the Mostra d’Oltremare and Città della Scienza, but we didn’t stop at that”, adds the CBN Director, Giovanna Lucherini. In the past days an agreement has been signed with the Fondazione il Cartastorie of the Fondazione Banco di Napoli. “It is in the spirit of the Foundation to commit to the promotion of the territory and the Archivio storico bancario, the largest in the world, offers a unique location that responds to the high qualitative standard offered by CBN”, emphasises the Chairman Daniele Marrama. 

Even with the Catacombs of Naples there was a quick understanding. “Today the beauty of the Sanità area – emphasises Giovanni Maraviglia, Chairman of La Paranza which manages the catacombs – represents a concrete growth opportunity. The partnership with the CBN is going in this direction, promoted the city not only as a tourist destination, but also as a destination where to organise events.” From November the activities of the CBN have also the support of McArthurGlen La Reggia Designer Outlet, a shopping destination appreciated by international visitors.
