Mestre, 2017: four hotel chains debut in the Lagoon. 1,800 new rooms are on the way

2017 will be the year of new openings in the are of Venice and its close-by Mestre. During the coming year, in fact, there will be four hotel groups arriving in the Lagoon: all foreign, they will increase the reception capacity of the destination with 1,800 rooms.

As written on the La Nuova di Venezia e Mestre, these are four foreign chains that will bring back to life an ex-industrial area in Mestre. Just as the Anglo-Irish Stay City, specialised in rent apartments, furnished tourist apartments, equipped with kitchen, which can interest a client base made of families and workers. On the way is also a four stars, for the brand Leonardo Hotels, headed by the Israeli tourist group Fattal that in 2015 had already doubled the investments on Milan. The third investor is the Wombat chain, a young people formula by the group City Hostels, which anticipated to be aiming at Florence, Milan and Rome next.

Finally, the Chinese of Plateno arrive in Veneto: this is a big Asian company with a portfolio of over 3,000 hotel facilities in 300 destinations that will open a facility of 208 rooms in Mestre through its German partner. The formula is that of “budget hotel” and should take the name of Pai Hotels to respond to “the needs of the average needs”. This last is the confirmation of how strategic the  Chinese market is: a market that has 4 million arrivals and marks a trend of 18% growth compared to the previous year, and Venice, with Milan and Florence, is among the first destinations f interest.
