San Domenico Palace, spotlights on Taormina: the G7 summit will be held here in May

On the 16th March one of the symbolic hotels of Taormina and of all of Sicily will re-open: the San Domenico Palace, sophisticated 5 stars that is now under the patronage of the Statuto Luxury Hotels. Found in an ancient Dominican monastery of the 1400s, the San Domenico Palace still preserves intact the original structures of its ancient walls where the austere air of the long gone silence of contemplation can still be felt, inserted in a scenario of rare beauty that reaches the Greek theatre right up to the top of the Etna.

Such an important facility could not debut on the events scene if not with a worldwide event: the G7 Summit on the 26-27 May 2017. The 105 rooms and suites are divided between the prestigious building that was once an ancient Dominican monastery and the Grand Hotel built at the beginning of the 20th century in Liberty style. All the rooms reflect the tradition and centenary history of the Hotel without giving up on comfort. The restaurant of the hotel pays homage to Prince Giovanni Rosso di Cerami, Founder of the San Domenico: Prince Cerami boasts 2 Michelin stars and the signature dishes of the Executive Chef Massimo Mantarro.

Statuto Luxury Hotels takes over the management to promote the excellence of this jewel of hospitality, with the aim of elevating further the standards of the service and respond to the request of a period and a clientele which are increasingly demanding and prepared. Even on the meetings end, for which the iconic space in Taormina is equipped with four meeting rooms in the conference centre, including a plenary of 400 places, apart from another three meeting rooms and the magnificent open air spaces – the cloister, gardens and terraces – capable of hosting up to 340 guests.
