The luxury of Hotel Indigo arrives in Milan: in 2018 a charme hotel in Corso Monforte will be inaugurated
The official debut is due at the beginning of 2018 for the first Hotel Indigo in Milan. The brand of the InterContinental Hotels Group (IHG), one of the largest hotel companies in the world, has in fact announced the franchising agreement with Amapa Group: as a result of this agreement, a historic palazzo in Corso Monforte, right in the centre of the city, will be transformed into a luxury hotel with 55 rooms, a prestigious restaurant, an internal courtyard, a hobby and meeting room, and a fitness area. Only ten minutes away from the Duomo of Milan and the La Scala theatre, the facility is found in a privileged position to discover Milan. Its design will be inspired by the local area, having a long history in the fashion, textile and design departments.
Hotel Indigo Milan – Corso Monforte will be the second brand in Italy, together with Hotel Indigo Rome – St George, open in 2014. “That of boutique hotels is the segment in most rapid growth of the sector and Hotel Indigo has grown rapidly since its launch in 2004, opening its doors in 15 Countries all over the world”, said Hylko Versteeg, Vice Associated Chairman of IHG for Development of South Europe. “Here in Europe our strategy is focalised on growth in specific main cities and destinations and Milan fits perfectly in this plan. The Amapa Group is already our partner and we are happy to extend our relationship with them to bring Hotel Indigo in Milan.”
“We are enthusiastic of adding to our portfolio of hotels one of the leading brands on a worldwide level of IHG, moreover Hotel Indigo is the perfect brand for this location”, declared Ezio Romani of Amapa Gruppo. “This welcoming hotel will be a great plus for Milan, which will bring out the best that the Duomo area and the Fashion District have to offer, something that the guests who want to truly get to know the city would not like to miss…”. IHG currently has a portfolio of 31 hotels in Italy, among which the Hotel Indigo Roma – San Giorgio, with another facility being developed, the InterContinental Venezia Palazzo Nani, for which an agreement has been signed at the beginning of this year.
